Upon Nature's Verve

When shadows fled, as my sun softly dawned,
My qualms, sins and I eloped in furtive silence
To wander aimless into October's brace
From ties to empty, serf to solitude's caprice.

Crows shriek, leaves twirl, dance and let die
My steps went unaltered against the breeze
For cold is little to the bitter heart –
Black shifts to grey as clouds unveil,
Ode to the well-famed season of the dead.

Over the humble bridge, between piled stones
And onto the modest dock, far to its tip;
Where fishermen have sieged, I halted and lay.
Sway the gusts of wind, the gale wavers,
Smell of salt and sea, fresh air and tangle,
I quivered to the icy touch of metal, and admired.
The lake whirled beneath the mist, crushed quietly,
Girdled by a fading forest of twigs and warm hues
While birds of prey brooded high, endless circle,
And further sparkled hazy lights of a distant world.

Here, where time knows no course, I have shed my burden.
In this haven and upon nature's verve, the hour held but peace,
Resigned to the eerie calm, my lore yielded to serene passion –
Ought it not fade, this hollow insight, for whims have waned.

I readied yet my poise before I should return and live anew.
I was asked by teacher to type it out. Written during school period - no tools, no time, no inspiration. Not to my fancy: I dislike the result.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers

I like it enough.

It made me giggle to see the typo:

"Black shits to grey as clouds unveil,"

I wish I could find the serenity that the character felt. I need a long road trip.
